The Honeywell 5800PIR-RES is a wireless motion detector designed for Honeywell 5800-Series control panels. The 5800PIR-RES wireless PIR motion detector has pet immunity, and ignores pets up to 80 pounds. The 5800PIR-RES is high-performance, an easy-to-install sensor featuring sleek, compact designs that are ideal for applications where aesthetics or discretion are critical. On the 5800PIR-RES, PIR sensitivity and temperature sensing can be enabled via programming locally or from the AlarmClub central station.
Enroll the 5800PIR-RES sensor in the control panel prior to its usage in the system. Program the sensor as an "RF" type (supervised RF) device. To enroll the 5800PIR-RES connect the battery and wait for power up to end. When prompted for the serial number, activate the sensor (wave a hand in front of the lens) to enroll the sensor. Use Loop 1, pulse count 2 for pet immunity up to 80 lbs.
Installation is easy, with no jumpers, switches or disassembly, fewer mounting restrictions and an automatic walk test mode that turns on the walk test LED for ten minutes saving installers one trip up the ladder for each sensor. Before mounting the transmitter permanently, conduct Go/No Go tests to verify adequate signal strength and reorient or relocate the sensor if necessary. For animal pet immunity, install the sensor where animals cannot come within 6 ft (1.8 m) of the sensor by climbing on furniture or other objects. Aim the sensor way from stairways, furniture or other objects. Do not use optional swivel mount brackets.
The 10 minute walk test mode begins after power up, and can be restarted by removing and replacing the battery. As you walk through the detection pattern, the 5800PIR-RES sensor LED will light for 3 seconds to indicate each alarm detection. Please note, that in walk test mode all transmissions will be sent as they occur. During normal operation, only one transmission sequence will occur within a 3-minute period to conserve battery life. When the system displays a "low battery" message, simply replace the battery within 7 days.
Other notable benefits include fewer service calls thanks to a long-life battery and empty cases which allow designers and end-users to custom-paint the motion detectors to match any residential or commercial setting. The 5800PIR-RES blends perfectly with all of the 5800-Series family of sensors for a seamless and consistent look.
